Sarah Anne Jones (also known as Suranne Jones) is an actor and producer from England. The Suranne Jones character is an actor and producer from England. The actress gained notoriety for her character Ruth Slater, the detective in a crime procedural called "Scott & Bailey,' along with Gemma Foster, the GP in a medical drama 'Doctor Foster.' Born in Chadderton, Greater Manchester, Jones was a member of her first theatre group, the Oldham Theatre Workshop and received her BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts from the workshop. As a part of a stage production called Wait Until Dark, she appeared as Gloria as a child at age eight. In 1997, she made her debut on the screen with a 'Coronation Street episode'. In 2000, she was Karen McDonald in the series. When she quit the ITV soap opera She was cast in several roles on television shows like 'Vincent' 'Strictly Confidential', and "Harley Street". Also, she been seen on screen in movies like 'Love and a Long Shot"Broken Hearts," as well as 'A Christmas Star.
